Contact microphones Ischell are recognized for their fidelity to the acoustics of the instrument, they respect the nuances of the musician with precision, the acoustic isolation and the resistance to the feedback are comparable to a pickup and allow strong front/return levels, you can easily use in an amp, apply effects to them etc. The model X48JC is appreciated by double bassists for its remote electronics, its XLR outputs, its operation on phantom power and with the 9-volt battery option the output Jack simultaneously available. Among the other versions often chosen, the J48CCB, with this model everything is on the double bass, the Unbalanced Jack out or symmetrical, is clipped between the strings and the 9v battery is fixed behind the tailpiece. The model X48C, simple system with XLR output and operation on phantom power, attaches behind the tailpiece with Velcro. Or the models C2BHP et C3BHP for occasional use. The aerial microphone A1 is generally used in addition to a contact microphone on a double bass. starstarstarstarstarThe x jack allows the Phantom powered XLR jack to be side by side with a powered 1 / 4in jack. Maximum versatility, plug and play, plus the jack is well designed and works really well. The 9v is not as hot a sound as the XLR jack (9v vs. 48v) but it is great to have if you may be using amps without phantom power. I am really glad I ordered this version. The pickup (c on my bass is the best pickup I have used. I highly recommend it.

starstarstarstarstar I've had it for 2 months on my double bass and I'm completely satisfied with it. Indeed, you have to take the time to position it, but after that it's only happiness. I use it on the phil jones suitcase and it is serious…. Also, during beef, I used it on other amps, no problem.
Small flat: it is the color of the fixed WHITE paste. Indeed, it is efficient. BUT it will be BLACK in color, it would be more harmonious.

starstarstarstarstar I rehearsed today with the microphone Ischell that I have just acquired, I was surprised and delighted to see the fidelity and the power without feedback and without compression of the microphone X48C. 3 low cut settings are installed in the XLR socket. I chose the 360Hz cut-off. I did some tests and I compared the sound by muting the channel. The result is surprising, the acoustic sound of my double bass is almost 95 percent the same with and without the microphone. So I can play hard enough without distorting its true sound. The fact that it is a static must have a lot to do with it, a piezo only transmits vibrations, with this real microphone, we can clearly hear all the ancillary or even parasitic sounds of the instrument: glissendi, curly, string clicks, without that it annoys, quite the contrary.

The second point of satisfaction is the fact that no other instrument in the orchestra re-enters this microphone, thanks to its sound insulation.
The third positive point is that this material is manufactured in France by a competent man with whom we can talk about his sound and musical research.
This is the first time that I am really satisfied with the amplification of my double bass. thank you so much
